2 Months Before

Sort and purge. Decide what items you will get rid of in all rooms of your home. Think about and identify all the items that will require extra care and special packing. Contact renter or home insurance agent for questions regarding coverage.

Create a folder/binder to keep all of your moving paperwork including your new home or storage documents and a checklist to keep track of everything.
6 Weeks Before

Gather what your budget is for the move. Contact companies like Blu Byrd for quotes. Make travel arrangements for the move.

Plan what will go where in your new home. Have a floor plan set to determine where furniture will be placed and color code each room to designate where items will go.
1 Month Before

Get packing supplies (boxes, tape, wrapping paper, labels, bubble wrap) and start packing.

Transfer utilities such as cable and electric services to your new home address to be activated 1 day before your move in date.
Moving Day

Pack your "Open First" boxes. Make sure movers load boxes last or transport in personal vehicle.

Make sure to confirm all moving details and have inventory sheet handy to keep track of all your belongings during the move.

Make sure movers place bed screws/hardware in a plastic bag and tape to bed rails to ensure no items get lost or misplaced.
